General

Download Cover Tape Covertapes now starting to be used to rerelease old games. This one has Orbix the Terrorball, originally rated 7 in Feb 1987. Also on the tape are demos of Mad Mix, Rex and Rambo III. In those days, tapes had both quantity and quality. This would soon change...
Loadergames start appearing - simple games people can play whilst their game loads.
Amstrad reveals the secret computer they've been working on for the past few months - the Sinclair PC 200. The specs: 8 MHz 8086 processor, 512k RAM, CGA graphics, 3.5" 720k disk drive. £299+VAT for the system, plus one or two hundred pounds for a mono or colour monitor respectively. Unfortunately, the launch was botched - the PC was sold without manuals or software and Amstrad decided to forget about it. The PC 200 died almost immediately.
    Joysticks feature.
Bobby Yazz Show gets reviewed but never released. It eventually appears on a Crash cover tape.
Cabal is featured in Slots of Fun.
Ocean continues its licence-grabbing by getting the licence for hit film The Untouchables, plus Red Heat and coin-ops Dragon Ninja and WEC Le Mans.
Microprose enters the coin-op market with the development of its own arcade machines.
Interview with Gary Bracey, Ocean's software manager.
