We're not tracking anything. We don't even have a hit counter. The data people do volunteer to us (name, e=mail address, gender, country, anything people feel compelled to tell us in e-mail) is split into two different piles. First there's subscriber information. That is private - only Nathan has ever seen the subs list, and nobody else even knows where it is. It is held on a totally secure computer that has no net connection. It is transferred for use only by memory, and is never written to any other location. Second, there's public information. Your name and whatever is in an e-mail sent to us is considered material for publication, even if you request otherwise, because we're journalists. (But we're nice guys too - we've never printed anything that somebody's requested not be printed yet. We're just warning you it's not impossible.) In any case, anything that can be used for marketing purposes, such as your e-mail address, is held securely by us, and will never, ever be transferred to anybody else, for money or otherwise. |
