NARC/Ocean (YS62, 72)
Violent, repetitive and morally dubious shoot-'em-up based on popular arcade game. A hit (sadly).
NARC/Hit Squad (YS82, 31)

NATO Assault/Astros Productions (YS29, 7)
NOMAD/Ocean (YS3, 9)
Nanodemo (PD)/Jacek Michalak and the Cat-Man (YS87, 70)
Napoleon At War/CCS (YS14, 8)
Narco Police/Dinamic (YS64, 83)
A 'strategy' shoot-'em-up with good looks and brains too!
Navy Moves/Dinamic (YS42, 81)
A corkendous follow up to Army Moves, for those who don't mind investing six squillion years in getting past level one (i.e. it's hard).
Navy Seals/Ocean (YS62, 86)
Half unspectacular runaround, half snazzy multilevel shoot-'em-up. Rather excellent really.
Nebulus/Hewson (YS25, 9)
Cunningly complex and well programmed, John Phillip's latest is the neatest and nattiest platform variant yet.
Nebulus C (YS44, 92)
As part of the Heatwave compilation.
Neighbours/Zeppelin (YS73, 81)
It made my eyes go a bit funny, but it's a fun (and tricky) 3D Aussie soap-related scroller.
Nemesis/Konami (YS18, 8)
Nemesis The Warlock/Martech (YS19, 9)

Nether Earth/Argus (YS16, 9)
Netherworld/Hewson (YS38, 8)
Boulderdash minus Rockford and gravity, plus a polo mint and sci-fi storyline. Flickering graphics but brilliantly balanced gameplay and - man! - it is addictive.
Netherworld C (YS44, 61)
As part of the Heatwave compilation.
Never-Ending Story II, The/Linel (YS77, 40)
It ties in well with the film. And it looks quite nice. But it doesn't actually do much, does it?
New York Warriors/Virgin (YS59, 62)
An okayish scrolling shooter that loses out by being a bit crap.
New Zealand Story, The/Ocean (YS45, 93)
Totally screwy. Totally wacky. Sickenly cute and rather marvellous. Can I have another go please?
Nick Faldo Plays The Open/BugByte r (YS22, 6)
Nick Faldo Plays The Open C (YS38, UNR)
As part of the Game Set And Match II compilation.
Nigel Mansell's Grand Prix/Martech (YS28, 6)
A very clever simulation, but it ain't a game. Let down only by the fact that it takes ages to get anywhere...
Nigel Mansell's World Championship/Gremlin (YS87, 80)
Little wrong with it, but nothing that makes you think this is something to be treasured for ever. Good clean competent fun.
Night Hunter/Ubisoft (YS57, 74)
A not-all-that-original arcade game given a new(ish) lease of life by a pointy pair of false teeth.
Night Raider/Gremlin (YS34, 7)
A cross between a tactical shoot 'em up and a flight simulation that hasn't quite come off in the 'absorbing' department.
Night Shift/US Gold (YS65, 89)
Seemingly impenetrable factory game that's actually jolly good indeed.
Nightbreed/Ocean (YS58, 86)
A rather large, rather clever and rather spooky film conversion. Bravo!
Nightmare Rally/Ocean (YS11, 9)
Nightshade C (YS33, UNR)
As part of the Ultimate: The Collected Works compilation.
Nihilist/Electric Dreams (YS25, 7)
Well implemented arcade adventure (with distinctly zappy elements) in the style of Paradroid and virtually everything else!
Ninja/Mastertronic (YS15, 5)
Ninja Hamster/CRL (YS22, 8)
A superb cartoon-style martial arts game with a unique combination of fast, gritty action and an oddball sense of humour.
Ninja Scooter Simulator/Firebird (YS31, 6)
Ninja Spirit/Activision (YS53, 71)
What could have been a neat arcade slash-'em-up is practically ruined by confused graphics. Silly.
Ninja Spirit C (YS66, 71)
As part of the Coin-Op Hits II compilation.
Ninja Spirit arcade screenshots A
Ninja Warriors/Virgin (YS49, 70)
Maybe I couldn't expect more from the Speccy conversion of such a big arcade game, but for me it's a disappointing hack-'em-up scroller.
Ninja Warriors C (YS65, 67)
As part of the Fists Of Fury compilation.

No More Intelligence - The Trilogy (PD)/Dynamite Dynastie (YS81, 90)
North And South/Infogrames (YS63, 90)
Juicy strategy/arcade game, brill with two-player option. Colourful, clever and a lorra, lorra fun!
Northstar/Gremlin (YS28, 6)
Slowish Exolon-style scroller that's long on style but short on originality. Not bad, though.
Northstar C (YS38, UNR)
As part of the Space Ace compilation.
Nosferatu/Piranha (YS13, 9)
Nuclear Countdown/Atlantis (YS15, 8)
