LED Storm/US Gold (YS39, 7)
A futuristic, vertically scrolling racing game that is only average in most areas except (EXCEPT!!) for speed - where it positively stomps on most rivals.
LED Storm C (YS62, 70)
As part of the Platinum compilation.

Labours Of Hercules, The/T. Taylor (YS24, 8)
Labyrinthion/Budget (YS5, 6)
Lamberley Mystery, The/Zenobi (YS67, 80)
Recommended for... The more experienced player, who can cope with the program's occasional quirks
Lancelot/Mandarin (YS38, 9)
Lap Of The Gods/Mastertronic (YS10, 7)
Laser Squad/Target Games (YS35, 9)
A sophisticated strategy wargame with endless possibilities. On a par with Elite for thinking warmongers.
Last Commando, The/Summit (YS75, 55)
A dull spacey shoot-'em-up. You'll have more fun doing your maths homework.
Last Duel/US Gold (YS39, 6)
Lip smackin', joystick jugglin', vertical scrollin', long on loadin', fast and challengin', samey shoot 'em up.
Last Duel arcade screenshots A
Last Mission/US Gold (YS22, 8)
8-way shoot 'em up set in space. A slow but very addictive conversion from the Data East coin-op.

Last Ninja II/System 3 (YS33, 9)
Last Ninja II C (YS74, 83)
As part of the Superheroes compilation.
Lazer Tag/Go! (YS32, 3)
Unoriginal, unplayable, overpriced and generally unappealing. Laser Tag has very little going for it - stay well away...
Leaderboard/US Gold (YS16, 9)
Leaderboard C (YS37, 8)
As part of the 10 Great Games III compilation.
Leaderboard C (YS38, UNR)
As part of the History In The Making compilation.
Leaderboard Tournament/US Gold (YS20, 8)
Lethally hard follow-up for Leader Board addicts. Beginners beware, but Speccy Severianos should love it.
Lee Enfield Is Space Ace/Infogrames (YS30, 5)
Prohibition revisited - it's all too similar and not a fraction as stylish. Not recommended.
Legend Of Apache Gold, The/Incentive (YS15, 6)
Legend Of Kage/Imagine (YS14, 7)
Legend Of Kage arcade screenshots A
Legend Of The Amazon Women/US Gold (YS7, 8)
Legendary Spectrum Demo (PD)/Pentagram (YS85, 86)
Legions Of Death/Lothlorien (YS18, 8)
Lemmings/Psygnosis (YS73, 91)
Whizzy, super and chock full of furry animals with long hair. Groovesome.
Leviathan/English Software (YS21, 6)
Nice try at a Zaxxon-style scroller, but diagonal scrolls don't seem to work too well on the Spectrum and playability is low.
Licence To Kill/Domark (YS45, 79)
Surprisingly playable and addictive Bond tie-in with six separate gamelets, all in a Vindicatorish shoot 'em up mould. Hopelessly unoriginal, of course, but neatly put together.
Licence To Kill C (YS57, 74)
As part of the Heroes compilation.
Life-Term/Alternative (YS24, 6)
Light Corridor, The/Infogrames (YS64, 80)
Not at all easy squash-like affair, with really good game-maker. Well worth wasting some time on!
Lightforce/FTL (YS12, 7)
Lightforce C (YS23, 8)
As part of the Six-Pak Vol 2 compilation.
Lightforce C (YS47, 67)
As part of the Christmas Collection compilation.
Line Of Fire/US Gold (YS61, 72)
Disappointing Op Wolf variant that claims to be different but isn't at all really.
Little Computer People/Activision (YS16, 9)
Little Puff In Dragon Land C (YS68, UNR)
As part of the Quattro Cartoon compilation.
Live And Let Die/Domark (YS36, 5)
The run-of-the-mill racing game with a Bond licence tacked on.
Live And Let Die C (YS44, 58)
As part of the The Story So Far Volume II compilation.
Living Daylights, The/Domark (YS21, 6)
You're unlikely to be shaken or stirred by this bit of Bondage - even Roger Moore would raise an eyebrow!
Livingstone, I Presume/Alligata (YS19, 7)
Lone Wolf - The Mirror Of Death/Audiogenic (YS65, 92)
A treat for the eyes, a joy to the ears and a blinking great (but tough) arcade adventure to boot.
Loopz/Audiogenic (YS64, 77)
A pleasantly approachable puzzle game, but nothing more.
Lord Of The Rings/Melbourne House (YS4, 9)
Lord Of The Rings C (YS49, UNR)
As part of the The Tolkien Trilogy compilation.
Lords Of Chaos/Blade (YS54, 90)
A brill sword and sorcery strategy game. Loads of depth, pretty easy to get into and nicely presented.
Lost Dragon, The/Tartan (YS68, 80)
Recommended for... Anyone with a sense of humour. An easy game to understand.
Lost Ruby, The/Wrightchoice (YS23, 6)
Lost Tomb Of Ananka, The/Zenobi (YS90, 99)
Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge/Gremlin (YS61, 90)
Very fast and pretty smooth driving game, with interesting (but slower) two-player option.
Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge C (YS73, 84)
As part of the Chart Attack compilation.
Lunar Jetman C (YS33, UNR)
As part of the Ultimate: The Collected Works compilation.
Lyra III Demo (SAM) (PD), The/ESI (YS91, 62)
