A Fistful Of Blood Capsules/Zodiac (YS25, 8)
A Question Of Scruples/Leisure Genius (YS25, 8)
Well thought-out conversion of YS's favourite board game of recent years. But do we really need it?
A Ticket To Ride/Mastertronic (YS7, 5)
A Trick Of The Tale/Central Solutions (YS8, 2)
ACE/Cascade (YS10, 8)
ACE C (YS23, 8)
As part of the Six-Pak Vol 2 compilation.
ACE II/Cascade (YS26, 5)
A dreary two player combat game with very limited potential, at a high flying price.
ACE II C (YS35, 5)
As part of the Supreme Challenge compilation.
AMC/Dinamic (YS55, 75)
Pretty, well programmed but desperately uninnovative Dinamic shoot-'em-up.
AMC C (YS72, 60)
As part of the The Ultimate Collection compilation.
APB - All Points Bulletin/Domark (YS46, 75)
Okay, so it's a bit limited graphically, but so what when it's dead playable and good for a laugh?
APB - All Points Bulletin C (YS58, 70)
As part of the TNT compilation.
APB - All Points Bulletin arcade screenshots A
ATF/Digital Integration (YS28, 8)
An interesting hybrid of blast 'em up strategy game masquerading as a flight simulation, with fine and fast graphics.
ATV Simulator/Codemasters (YS24, 8)
Bone jarring simulation of the cunning stunts of quad (dune buggy) racing. High action, low cost thrills and plenty of spills.
ATV Simulator C (YS57, UNR)
As part of the Quattro Power compilation.
ATV Simulator C (YS68, UNR)
As part of the Quattro Racers compilation.
Aaargh!/Virgin (YS44, 48)
A very primitive multi-level, multi-load, beat 'em, blowtorch 'em up which'll have you screaming its title each time you die and have to reload!
Academy/CRL (YS12, 9)
Ace Of Aces/US Gold (YS17, 7)
Acheton/Topologika (YS31, 7)
Acrojet/Microprose (YS16, 7)
Action Double/Challenge (YS72, 90)
Two games on one tape that are more absorbing than a twin-pack of Dixcel.
Action Fighter/Firebird (YS47, 62)
Not a particularly good scrolly road game, but sort of alrightish in its own way.
Action Force/Virgin (YS25, 5)
Second-hand shoot 'em up masquerading as exciting toy'n'comic licence. Not bad, but hardly gripping.
Action Force II/Virgin (YS30, 9)
Strategic carnage with snazzy programming and natty graphics. On a par with Cybernoid and Rastan.
Action Reflex/Mirrorsoft (YS8, 8)
Addams Family, The/Ocean (YS78, 86)
A juicy, addictive platformer marred by incredibly, amazingly, unbelievably annoying controls.
Adidas Championship Football/Ocean (YS57, 85)
The nearest thing to Kick Off on the Speccy yet. (128k only though).
Adidas Championship Tie-Break/Ocean (YS59, 79)
A slightly strange but generally enjoyable tennis game (that scrolls).
Advanced Lawnmower Simulator/Gardensoft (YS28, 9)
Classic simulation game from an exciting new name in Speccy software. Guaranteed number one!
Advanced Pinball Simulator/Codemasters (YS37, 7)
Adventure Quest C (YS13, UNR)
As part of the Jewels Of Darkness compilation.
After The War/Dinamic (YS48, 71)
Dodgy (and ludicrously difficult) first level hides a rather snazzy, all action shoot-'em-up. Would've been marked higher if it wasn't so hard.
After The War C (YS72, 70)
As part of the The Ultimate Collection compilation.
Afterburner/Activision P (YS36, PRE)
Afterburner/Activision (YS39, 7)
A technically brill conversion that can't quite make up for the original's shallowness.
Afterburner arcade screenshots A
Aftershock/Interceptor (YS12, 7)
Agatha's Folly/Zenobi (YS51, 80)
Agent Orange/A'n'F (YS15, 7)
Agent X/Mastertronic (YS15, 7)
Agent X II/Mastertronic (YS25, 6)
Well presented trio of ultimately stale ideas which just aren't challenging enough. Younger players only.
Airbourne Ranger/Microprose (YS37, 7)
A fair shoot 'em up with bearable graphics and acceptable addictiveness, but average multi-load stricken gameplay.
Airwolf II C (YS20, UNR)
As part of the Trio compilation.
Aladdin's Cave/Artic (YS2, 5)
Alien 8 C (YS33, UNR)
As part of the Ultimate: The Collected Works compilation.
Alien Evolution/Gremlin (YS19, 8)
Alien Highway Encounter II/Vortex (YS7, 9)
Alien Storm/US Gold (YS70, 75)
Two-player shooter with excellent graphics and dull gameplay - much like the coin-op original really.
Alien Storm arcade screenshots A
Alien Syndrome/ACE (YS35, 8)
Coin op conversion with squashy aliens to shoot and silly scientists to collect. Challenging and loadsa fun.
Alien Syndrome arcade screenshots A
Aliens/Electric Dreams (YS14, 9)
Aliens C (YS48, 40)
As part of the The Story So Far Volume IV compilation.
Aliens US Edition/Electric Dreams (YS25, 9)
A brilliantly executed computer movie, where you play the leading role to terrifying effect. First Class.
All-American Basketball/Zeppelin (YS86, 20)
Slight differences do not a new game make.
Altered Beast/Activision (YS47, 80)
Little niggles here and there but very adventurous (and gory).
Altered Beast C (YS66, 83)
As part of the Power Up compilation.
Altered Beast arcade screenshots A
Alternative World Games/Gremlin (YS33, 3)
A poorly-implemented sports sim that's about as alternative as Ben Elton!
Amaurote/Mastertronic (YS19, 9)
American 3D Pool/Zeppelin (YS77, 79)
Fast, fun and funky. Ignore the presentation - it's considerable!
American Tag Team Wrestling/Zeppelin (YS82, 86)
Okay, so it's not the most complex game in the world. But while it lasts, it's blimmin' excellent fun.
Anarchy/Rack-it (YS26, 8)
Top-notch Cheapie from Hewson's Rack-It label and the fertile brain of Dominic Robinson.
Ancient Battles: Encyclopedia Of War/CCS (YS39, 9)
An excellent package: good game with added bonus of 'design your own battle' mode.
Andy Capp/Mirrorsoft (YS27, 8)
Clever and original arcade adventure that accurately simulates the breathless non-stop action of Andy's life. Champion!
Anfractuos/Players (YS17, 7)
Angleball/Mastertronic (YS24, 8)
Challenging yet simple Pool simulation that will have you right on cue. Very good value.
Animator I/Softcat Micros (YS8, UNR)
Annals Of Rome/PSS (YS14, 4)
Anttilis Mission, The/Compass (YS79, 80)
April 7th/Zenobi (YS80, 70)

   Spooky mythological corker. Great stuff!
Arkanoid/Imagine (YS17, 9)
Arkanoid II - Revenge Of Doh/Imagine (YS28, 9)
Immensely impressive and chronically addictive sequel that takes the Arkanoid format into previously uncharted areas of excellence. A classic.
Arkanoid II - Revenge Of Doh arcade screenshots A
Arkanoid arcade screenshots A
Armageddon Man C (YS41, 80)
As part of the Command Performance compilation.
Armageddon Man, The/Martech (YS22, 8)

Army Moves/Imagine (YS19, 8)
Arnold The Adventurer II/Zenobi (YS80, 70)
Art Studio/Rainbird (YS2, UNR)
Artura/Gremlin (YS36, 6)
Very mediocre 'arcade/adventure' with no adventure to speak of and arcade features you've seen too many times before.
Asterix And The Magic Cauldron/Melbourne House (YS12, 5)
Asteroids arcade screenshots A
Astonishing Adventures Of Mr Weems And The She Vampires, The/Piranha (YS20, 7)
A nifty chasearound in the Gauntlet mould. Fast, furious and heavy on the garlic!
Astroball (SAM)/Revelation (YS80, 90)
Just as much fun as the Speccy version, if not more so. Screamingly playable.
Astroball/Revelation (YS78, 90)
Sheer, unadulterated fun. Buy this game extremely quickly.
Astrocade/DDS (YS7, 7)
Athena/Imagine (YS22, 9)
Cracking conversion of the coin-op from SNK - and it'll keep even the hardiest gamer battling for months!

Auf Wiedersehen Monty C (YS30, 9)
As part of the 10 Great Games II compilation.
Austerlitz 1805/CCS (YS45, 82)
Dedicated wargamers will lap this one up, and others might do well to try it too.
Austerlitz/Lothlorien (YS4, 7)
Australian Rules Football/Again Again (YS49, 69)
Quite a goodie if you're into this sort of thing, but the lack of a two player option does let it down.
Australian Rules Football C (YS75, 80)
As part of the 4-Most Balls, Boots And Brains compilation.
Avalanche/CCS (YS73, 82)
Why not visit Italy this Christmas? It'll be a lovely holiday, especially if you win.
