American Tag Team Wrestling/Zeppelin (YS82, 86)
Okay, so it's not the most complex game in the world. But while it lasts, it's blimmin' excellent fun.
Bangers And Mash/Alternative (YS78, 70)
Platform, jungle fun for the younger Spec-chum.
Biff/Beyond Belief (YS77, 80)
   Cute, Dizzy-style collect-'em-up puzzler.
Champ, The/Linel (YS65, 58)
Weak boxing sim completely lacking in the excitement dept.
Championship 3D Snooker/Zeppelin (YS80, 70)
   Cheap and cheerful snooker sim.
Crystal Kingdom Dizzy/Codemasters (YS84, 70)
Fans will enjoy this caper, but will they be willing to pay more? Probably!
Days Of Thunder/Mindscape (YS61, 70)
Averageish driving game about a fairly boring sort of racing. Not massively thrill-packed, it has to be said.
Dizzy's Excellent Adventures/Codemasters (YS73, 90)
A complete and utter barg and a must for the festive period. Good, clean family entertainment.
Edd The Duck/Impulze (YS62, 83)
Neat and clourful Rainbow Islands clone with a cutsie BBC puppet. Fun, but not all that original.
European Superleague/CDS (YS67, 80)
Easy-to-pick-up footie management sim, with more life that most, and plenty of clever touches.
F-16 Combat Pilot/Digital Integration (YS62, 92)
Well programmed, bloomin' complicated - perhaps the ultimate Speccy flight sim.
First Division Manager/Codemasters (YS70, 50)
Fairly good management sequences but the whole thing's ruined by the appalling arcade bit.
Five On A Treasure Island/Enigma Variations (YS66, 83)
Really nice adventure game. Easy to understand, plenty of action, and good for beginners.
Golden Axe/Virgin (YS61, 91)
Brilliant beat-'em-up with loads of characters, colour and nice little touches. The best of its kind all year.
Grell And Falla/Codemasters (YS79, 85)
Amazingly cute scrolly/platform action that just misses being one of the best things ever.
Hideous/Alternative (YS81, 70)
Plesant enough maze-y, pushy block-y kind of game that's, sadly, too dated to be brilliant.
Hollywood Collection/Ocean (YS60, 87)
Three and a half strong games, and all big names too - excellent value for beginners.
International Tennis/Zeppelin (YS85, 82)
A game, set and match of International Tennis could be just what you're after.
Light Corridor, The/Infogrames (YS64, 80)
Not at all easy squash-like affair, with really good game-maker. Well worth wasting some time on!
Line Of Fire/US Gold (YS61, 72)
Disappointing Op Wolf variant that claims to be different but isn't at all really.
Man Utd Europe/Krisalis (YS69, 79)
Footie sim with slow management bits and fast arcade sequences. A good all rounder.
Moontorc/Atlantis (YS74, 70)
Uppy, downy, acrossy, abouty game that's a tad lacking!
Narco Police/Dinamic (YS64, 83)
A 'strategy' shoot-'em-up with good looks and brains too!
Nigel Mansell's World Championship/Gremlin (YS87, 80)
Little wrong with it, but nothing that makes you think this is something to be treasured for ever. Good clean competent fun.
North And South/Infogrames (YS63, 90)
Juicy strategy/arcade game, brill with two-player option. Colourful, clever and a lorra, lorra fun!
Pick 'n' Pile/Ubisoft (YS62, 80)
Colourful French variation on the puzzle game theme - addictive, but not as good as Puzznic (for instance).
Platinum/US Gold (YS62, 89)
Four of the best games US Gold have done (plus one freebie) - you can't go far wrong, can you?
Power Up/Ocean (YS66, 90)
An absolutely truly scrumptious compilations. 3 incredibly good Megagames and a couple of nice other things.
Return Of The Witch Lord - Hero Quest Expansion Kit/Gremlin (YS70, 86)
A definite must-buy for everyone who's already got Hero Quest. A barg!
Robin Hood: Legend Quest/Codemasters (YS86, 90)
Super! Pick up a copy and become a Merry Person riding through the glen.
Robocop III/Ocean (YS76, 86)
Monochrome, jump-about-a-lot and kill people thang that's plenty of fun.
Santa's Xmas Caper/Zeppelin (YS73, 14)
Imagine a class of infants making a Christmassy computer game and you'll have a good idea of what this is like.
Sharkey's Moll/Zeppelin (YS69, 54)
Uninspired and uninspiring Op Wolf-style shoot-'em-up.
Shoe People, The/Gremlin (YS78, 85)
A big bundle of spanky educational software with a thick coating of cuddly fun.
Sidewinder II/Virgin (YS85, 68)
It doesn't matter how old-fashioned games like this are, they're always fun.
Skull And Crossbones/Domark (YS67, 72)
Fun but facile coin-op conversion. A piratical slash-'n'-pick-'em-up with confusing sprites.
Sky High Stuntman/Codemasters (YS72, 80)
An airborne shoot-'em-up with a film theme. Quite nice really.
Space Crusade/Gremlin (YS75, 92)
A stonker of a game that'll have you playing for hours.
Steg/Codemasters (YS84, 90)
Steg is a fine game, in fact it's a right little charmer!
Supersports Challenge/Codemasters (YS88, 81)
Cue Boy is ace International Speedway isn't. The rest is dandy enough and worth your pennies, especially Cue Boy.
Sword Of The Samurai/Zeppelin (YS83, 72)
Four quid can't buy you much these days, so why not spend it on a game that'll keep you happy for a while.
War Machine/Players (YS84, 30)
Waterworks (SAM)/FRED (YS88, 80)
I really enjoyed playing it, but I can see why people wouldn't like it. Non-puzzle fanatics should knock 25% off the score.
Wile E Coyote/Hi-Tec (YS74, 68)
Samey and disappointing collect-'em-up with extremely obscure graphics.
Wrestling Superstars/Codemasters (YS86, 60)
   'S all right, innit?
