Alien Storm/US Gold (YS70, 75)
Two-player shooter with excellent graphics and dull gameplay - much like the coin-op original really.
Cecco's Collection/Hewson (YS56, 92)
Fat Cat Cecco and la creme de la creme - you won't see a better compilation all year.
Chip's Challenge/US Gold (YS61, 82)
Hand-held console puzzler that translates well to the Spec. Crap(ish) to look at, great fun to play.
Dick Tracy/Titus (YS64, 53)
Very bad punch-'n'-shoot-'em-up - dreadful waste of a good licence. (Sob!)
Gazza II/Empire (YS62, 87)
At last a really fast soccer sim for the Speccy. Brilliant as a two-player, a let-down if you're on your own.
Hydra/Domark (YS67, 49)
Completely crap Tengen coin-op conversion about speedboats. Don't even think about it.
Monty Python's Flying Circus/Virgin (YS58, 90)
A rather spooky arcade adventure with a definite weird French feel to it - except it's British! Spiffing!
Mystical/Infogrames (YS68, 74)
Scrumptious-looking shoot-'em-up, but with not enough gameplay.
Pictionary/Domark (YS49, 74)
A bit of a dud as far as the game goes but the art package is certainly worth splashing out for. That is if you want to spend this much dosh.
SWIV/Storm (YS65, 90)
Addictive and very good-looking shoot-'em-up. It's not perfect, but it's still the biz.
Shadow Dancer/US Gold (YS66, 85)
Strong beat/shoot-'em-up conversion with a good gimmick (a fighting dog). It works.
Switchblade/Gremlin (YS63, 92)
Blimming huge and downright excellent platform arcade adventure. It bites and won't let go.
Wheels Of Fire/Ocean (YS60, 86)
The biggest driving games yet (just about). A motley crew but much better than most compilations.
